What does it mean to have a fulfilled life? For me it’s living without regrets. It’s imperative that we all strive to improve our lives in all the different ways that we value. Relationships, work and faith are important factors that none of us have a choice in. Life lessons shape who we are and give meaning to what we do.
Moving through life in this world is not possible without some form of relationship. It could be your family, neighbour or colleagues. Strive to keep in touch with your friends and family. Those that you love. This is not to say that you should include toxic people in your life, just because they happen to be family. The idea here is to create time for your loved ones.
Plan Less, work more
Do you know that we become less productive by overplanning? It’s a skill to minimize the time between thinking and acting. One should be clear about where you’re going in life, or what you want to do, though should not be caught into the planning perfection trap. Take the plunge and things will come up, as they always do and then you will solve them on your way to achieving your goal. Commencing work provides the momentum of obstacles.
Living with dignity and Accountability
Are there things that you want to do? Do you have goals? how are you going to make sure you do what you say you will do? Here comes accountability. one of the main life lessons is that accountability shapes your feelings and productivity and also boosts self Esteem.
Being true to ourselves and living the life that we want
This is a tough one. We’re all being brought up in one society or the other and so each has a different way of doing things …which are all right but one is frowned upon in the other society. An example is that you find it okay to go to church with a dress that is above the knees in Los Angeles but this is condemned in a different part of the world.
The most satisfactory way of dealing with life is to live the way you want regardless of society expectation. As long as you’re being honest and not breaking the law, why do you let other people’s beliefs matter?
When opportunity knocks, hold on to it
A life lesson that slips through people is that you shouldn’t make any excuse, when the opportunity comes, grab it. Being offered a job you feel you’re not qualified for? take it and overextend yourself, grind and learn through the process
This means doing things that are scary and learning through that fear. It’s always so rewarding when you realize that you are overcoming a barrier and improving your life and wisdom by the chance you did not let get away and this adds to your skill set.
Strive to live a balanced life
How do you want to live your life? I read an inspiring book written throught he lense of two diying people and it was eye opening. Nowadays, most of us are focussed on living financially free,making money to retire early, or buy that dream car and home. This is all okay, but we do best in life when we seek a balanced life buy including ;
- Physical Health
- Mental Health
- It’s okay to put more effort and energy towards your work for financial independence, but the idea is to not neglect the other three entirely.
