20 Air fryer recipes for weight watchers
You can get a lot of benefits and convenience by preparing food using an Air Fryer.
- One benefit is that you can serve low-fat meals . This means that you can have healthier options as it only requires little to no fraction of oil.
- An Air Fryer is easy to clean up
- Can cook multiple dishes at once
- Air fryers are definitely more recommended than other cooking methods like pan-frying. Through air frying, you can prepare wonderful crispy food selections without the need for a hefty amount of oil as you do with regular frying. What air fryers do is it continuously circulates hot air around the food you are preparing which allows it to ‘fry’ your food using the smallest amount of oil or cooking spray.
- Air fried meals still achieve the crispy, crunchy goodness with the inside perfectly tender.

Mix lemon Juice, garlic, paprika, cumin and salt in a bowl. Add shrimp and stir to evenly coat.
Thread shrimp onto the skewers.
Place skewers in air fryer and make sure they are not touching.

Tips for Making Air Fryer Shrimp Skewers
You can vary the spices and herbs to suit your taste. If following a particular eating program, make sure the spices and seasonings are compliant and program-approved.
This marinade also works well on fish, chicken and pork.
Make sure the skewers will fit inside your air fryer. You can buy smaller skewers, but if you already have longer skewers on hand do what I did and cut them down to fit in the air fryer basket (I cut mine to 6.5 inches).
Do a quick baste with the marinade just before adding the skewers to the air fryer.
Air fryer temperatures can vary depending on the make and model, so it is important to always check your food for doneness and adjust the cook time as needed.
Chef’s Tip: Remember that cooking time depends on the size of your shrimp, so start out with less time if you are unsure and then increase accordingly.

Notes
The nutrition is always estimated and with this recipe, it counts the full amount used. That means when you get salt on your hands, salt in the bowl and seasoning drops into the air fryer basket, it is still counted towards the nutrition label even though it’s not in the recipe. If salt intake is a concern we suggest using it at the end to season with your desired/allowed amount.

Notes
Tips and Timings
For a softer yolk cook for 12–13 minutes.
Make sure your eggs don’t have any cracks before you start cooking in the Air Fryer or they will leak.
Might be worth cooking a couple of eggs the first time to test how these work in your Air Fryer.
Cooling them in the ice bath helps them peel easily.
Air Fryer temperatures can vary depending on the make and model, so it may take some adjusting to get the timing just right.
I recommend starting off with less time and then adding more time if needed to get to your preferred level of doneness.
If you want to cook more than 4 eggs at a time, you may need to increase the overall cook time to allow them all to cook thoroughly.

Ingredients
1 apple
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Instructions
Air Fryer version:
Preheat the air fryer to 350 F / 180C.
Thinly slice the apples using either a mandolin or a sharp knife.
Add apples to bowl and combine with cinnamon and salt.
Transfer half of the spiced apple slices to the air fryer basket, arranging in a single layer.
Cook for 8–10 minutes, turning and flattening them at least 2 times during the cooking process.
Remove the cooked apples chips and then repeat with the rest of the apple slices.
Oven version:
Preheat oven to 225 F / 110 C.
Thinly slice the apples using either a mandolin or a sharp knife.
Add apples to bowl and combine with cinnamon and salt.
Arrange slices on a metal baking sheet.
Bake for 45–60 minutes until apples are dried and edges curl up.
Using a spatula, transfer these onto a wire rack until fully cooled and crispy.
Notes
Recipe Tips
Using a mandolin to slice the apples works best. But if that is not an option, make sure to use a sharp knife.
Try to make sure the apple slices are all the same thickness so they will cook at the same rate.
If they are not all the same size, divide into batches according to thickness and cook similar size slices together.
If some slices are cooking quicker than others, simply remove the quicker cooking ones earlier.
Air fryer temperatures can vary depending on the make and model, so this recipe includes a range of suggested cook times.
Cook time will also depend on the thickness of your apple slices. If they are very thin they may cook a bit quicker.
I suggest not cutting them tooooo thin, as they can then burn without actually crisping up.
Note that your apple crisps may not be fully crispy when done, but don’t fret. They will crisp upon cooling.
I like to make my apple chips crisper for snacking, but softer for topping granola.
For a different flavour profile, follow this recipe and use pears instead of apples.
Chef’s Tip: You will have to turn and flatten the apple slices about 2–3 times during cooking, as they move about and may end up touching the top of the air fryer and burning.

HOW TO USE A WEIGHT WATCHER’S AIR FRYER
Using an air fryer is no rocket science. As its purpose is to provide convenience, you don’t need a lot of technical knowledge to operate an air fryer. However, it is still the safest to read the user manual as there are different specifications and user recommendations for various types of air fryers. With that, here are some basic tips and instructions on how to use an air fryer:
- For the air to circulate effectively, try to give each food a plenty amount of space so that you can achieve a really crispy result.
